Winter Series clinic registration open - September 24th

Registration is open for the 9th Annual Winter Series Clinic!

The clinic will focus on beginning racer skills, from pinning on a race number to high speed cornering to pack riding skills, all with a focus on safety. Past clinics have been a rousing success, with most of the clinic graduates participating in the SJBC Winter Series. Many also continued on to race USA Cycling sanctioned events.

Cost options for the clinic are the following (lunch included):

$50 - clinic only
$90 - clinic + SJBC membership through 2017 ($10 savings)
$140 - clinic + SJBC membership through 2017 + Winter Series season pass ($50 savings!)

Juniors (18 and under) will be accepted for $10 (cost of lunch) and space is limited to six juniors.

Please visit the 'Clinic' tab at the Winter Series homepage for details on how to sign up. Or send your email with any questions to our Clinic coordinator.

See you there!

Winter Series Schedule for 2016 announced!!

We have great news for fans of the SJBC Winter Series!

For 2016, we are starting the Winter Series earlier in the season so that we can finish up before the Early Birds start. We are also incorporating our Vuelta de San Jose into the Winter Series prologue! What this means is that now the prologue will be a two part event. There will be a Merkx style ITT followed by a 2-lap road race! This should give our Winter Series coordinator more data for placing people into their appropriate categories. Yay!

Here is the currently planned schedule:

September
24 - clinic
25 - Prologue (was old Vuelta, now Merkx ITT and 2-lap RR )

October
2 - Crit #1
9 - ITT #1
16 - Crit #2
23 - Henry Coe Hill Climb
30 - Crit #3

November
6 - Road Race #1
13 - 4TTT
20 - Road Race #2
27 ** break for Thanksgiving **

December
4 - 2TTT
11 - ITT #2
18 - Road Race #3

A sea of blue at the SJBC race team mini-camp!

We had great weather for our first ride as a team out to Gilroy Hot Springs area for the classic 'Roop Loop'. A sea of blue was swarming through the quieter roads of Morgan Hill and Gilroy and all the drivers looked on in awe. So awesome! This is going to be an EPIC year for SJBC racing!

We met after the ride for pizza at Emperor Norton's and our Race Director extraordinaire Erik Camacho went over priorities and BAT (Best All-round Team) rules. Thanks Erik!

Huge thanks to Paul and Maria for driving SAG. You guys rule!

And thanks to our co-title sponsor Zaavy for the great banner.
